The Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Trust and Management Society was set up in 1885, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and is now the premier non-government educational organisation covering a wide spectrum of educational activity in the country and abroad. The Society is running more than 600 educational institutions which include 50 Graduate, Post-Graduate and Professional Colleges, 400 Public Schools, 100 Secondary Schools besides Vocational, Engineering and Technical Institutions.

Being a Charitable Organisation its activities are financed inter alia by public donations. The DAV Group of schools and colleges have become a byword for value-based education in the entire country and abroad. These institutions represent efficiency, discipline, selfless service, patriotism and high standards of attainments in the academic and related fields, imparting respect and attachment for Vedic thought and tradition.

Students coming out of these institutions are proud and possessive of their alumni and their success in varied fields is a source of satisfaction and inspiration. Great men, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Nobel laureate, Dr. Hargobind Khurana, Shri. Sushil Kumar Shinde, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Late Shri Sunil Dutt, Sports Minister of India Shri Balram Jakkhar, former Union Agriculture Minister, Shri H.K.L. Deeply impressed by the excellent functioning of DAV Public Schools, a number of undertakings in the Private and Public Sectors have entrusted the task of establishing and managing public schools for the benefit of the wards of their employees to the DAV College Trust and Management Society.

The Society has since setup more than fifty such schools in collaboration with Anpara Thermal Project, the Associated Cement Companies, Bhakra Beas Management Board, Bharat Cooking Coal Ltd., Central Coalfields Ltd., Hindustan Cables Ltd., Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Steel Ltd., Metallurgical and Engineering Consultants [India] Ltd., Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., and Vishakhapatnam Steel Project.

After rendering 50 years of selfless and glorious service to south Maharashtra through a network of DAV Colleges and schools in Solapur, the DAV Society has now dedicated itself to serve the students and citizens of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and other cities DAV Schools located in Maharashtra are:

DAV IN THE WESTERN REGION D.A.V. Public Schools in Maharashtra and Gujarat region were progressively established under the leadership of Dr. K. B. Kushal, Regional Director, D.A.V. Institutions Maharashtra and Gujarat from the year 1995, with the mission of providing affordable access to education to the masses from Kindergarten to Junior College-level. The Schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and are committed to comply with statutory and mandatory stipulations of CBSE.
